Are you selling? Because maybe I’m buying…

I have been lucky enough to meet some really great people over the past 8 months via social media channels.  There are so many great people who support me, who connect with me, who talk with me…they are my friends.  It seems that people try to dissect that word to fit some archaic definition.  For example, if we have never met face to face, some assume that we cannot be friends.  I don’t agree with that definition.

I like to support and help my friends whenever I can.  I click when they ask me to, sometimes I donate, sometimes I make a purchase…I enjoy supporting my friends.  The thing is, it is easier to do that with friends I have a longer history with because I usually know a bit more about them…in otherwords, I know what causes they support, I know what they are selling, and I know how I can support them.  It is a little more difficult to know in social media because sometimes you have to dig for information.  People get so excited to retweet, to comment on a blog, or simply to enjoy the camaraderie, that they forget to share how I (we) can support them.

If you are my friend, how can I support you?  Is there something that you want to ask, but are hesitating?  Go ahead, ask, the worst I can say is no, right? 🙂 And if you don’t ask, maybe I don’t know how I can support you.  So if you are selling, maybe I am buying, don’t forget to ask.  And even if I’m not buying, maybe I know someone who is.  It’s one of my favorite things about social media…connection.
